Virtual Home Program (VH)
Overview
We envision and implement a virtual ‘home’ for clinical and translational researchers at UCSF, providing tools, resources and a rich environment to facilitate collaborative and innovative research.
With the size of UCSF's research community, volume of research and geographical distribution of the brick-and-mortar ‘spaces’ for research, a Virtual Home is needed to support core elements of CTSI's mission. In addition, through innovation in communications & technology, we enable the implementation of CTSI's goals to transform the activities at UCSF that link bench to bedside to community.
Strategic Goals
- Enhance opportunities for collaborative clinical and translational investigation at UCSF through communication, information services and technology-enhanced collaboration tools.
- Provide a cohesive and engaging face of CTSI to CTSI leaders and administrators, the national health science research community and the public.
What We Do
- Design, implement and manage the continuing growth of a web portal for all clinical & translational researchers at UCSF.
- Design and deliver navigation services to lower administrative and other burdens for researchers at UCSF.
- Envision and implement knowledge management solutions for researchers (e.g. expertise and matchmaking systems).
- Identify, assess and implement technology products for CTSI-provided services (such as consultations & training).
- Develop communications strategy. Design and deliver communications products to promote opportunities and resources to UCSF researchers and the national community.
- Integrate UCSF's collaboration tools and systems with relevant national standards and systems.
