Trainee Opportunities
Training in Clinical Research (TICR) Course
The Designing Clinical Research for Residents and Students course is modeled after the highly successful TICR course for postdoctoral fellows and faculty. This course is taught twice a year in a one-month format, geared towards UCSF residents and health science students.
Pathways to Careers in Clinical & Translational Research (PACCTR)
The PACCTR program is designed to train predoctoral students from all four UCSF schools with the aim of launching students toward careers as independent researchers. The program is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of students and includes both didactic and practicum components.
Clinical Research Center Training
The Clinical Research Center offers training opportunities to enhance clinical and translational research training and career development throughout UCSF. We welcome trainees' inquiries for training, especially in the area of research in Bionutrition and Nursing.
Professional & Academic Success Skills (PASS)
Professional & Academic Success Skills (PASS) is a series of intensive workshops designed to enhance the professional development of UCSF graduate and professional students, postdoctoral and clinical fellows, and junior faculty.
Pre-Health Undergraduate Program (PUP)
The Pre-Health Undergraduate Program (PUP) is a summer clinical research training program for undergraduate students currently enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB), who are planning to attend dental, medical, nursing, pharmacy or physical therapy professional schools after graduation, and who have an interest in a career in clinical research. UCB students will be paired with a UCSF professional student who is enrolled in the course. The purpose of the course is to train UCB students to evaluate the medical literature, to design clinical and translational research studies, and to encourage long-term collaborations between UCSF and UCB students.
